Enchanted River in Surigao del Sur |
A lot of people believe that the Enchanting Blue River of Hunatuan, Surigao del Sur is protected by fairies, pixies and mermaids at night. These fairies, pixies and mermaids gather together to play and sing around the crystal clear water of the river.
The left side of the river was said to be 80 feet deep that somehow attract divers who were brave enough to explore the much more amazing underwater fissures.
It is indeed an Enchanting river because the big fishes of different species swim in the clear blue water, ignoring the tourists and divers who were busy taking pictures of the river.
When the clock hits noon, the Hinatuan Hymn will play from the loud speakers. The swimmers and the tourists will immediately swim back to the land while the fishes assembles near the riverbank as if there's a ritual they have to do. A few moments later, the caretaker then starts throwing cooked rice and sliced octopus for the fishes.
“These bluish waters have not changed since I was a kid. Despite the typhoons, it remains like this. I think that is why it is called the enchanted river,” Felicisimo Baguasan, the caretaker said.
According to the caretaker, some people said that the river hasn't changed at all because of the pixies, fairies and the mermaids who protects the place from outsiders.
Different generations also said that some tourists got unexplainable body pains, itches and afflictions after taking a bath in the river.
But still, there is no need to be afraid. The only thing that the visitors and the tourists have to do is to respect the environment if they do not want to get any unexplainable afflictions.
The bottom of the river is still a big mystery for everyone because a lot of people and divers had bravely tried to reach the bottom of the river but they didn't succeed.
