Rizal Should Turn Around Instead Of Demolishing The Torre De Manila. Seriously?

Rizal should make and about-face instead of demolishing the Torre De Manila. Is this for real?

Rep. Amado Bagatsing proposed a solution for the issue of Torre de Manila being the "National Photobomber".

This issue is highly discussed not only in the social media site but everywhere you go. It is about the construction of the new building in Manila named Torre de Manila that is being captured whenever you are taking a photo of the Rizal Monument in Luneta.

A lot of people criticized the developer of the building. They said that they should pay respect to the historical sights here in the Philippines.

Amado Bagatsing came up with the idea of making the Rizal Monument turn around. Instead of it facing the Manila Bay, he wants it to face the city of Manila.

The representative claimed that the Philippine National Hero is a traitor because it is not facing the city. He said, "I am proposing history be rectified if mali.
a Bansag kay Rizal traydor, nakatalikod. Hanggang ngayon nakatalikod pa."

He even said that the carabaos in the Rizal Park is facing the city but not for the hero.

The NCCA, National Commission for Culture and Arts find this proposal not quite interesting because turning Rizal will not make the construction go away. It will still take up the space.

"Kung tatalikod yan, it does not address the incursion into the space. Pag hinarap natin si Rizal sa DMCI di naman yata katanggap-tanggap yun," Attorney Trixie Angeles of NCCA said.

Now there is a temporary restraining order released by the Supreme Court to stop the construction of Torre de Manila in Taft Avenue.

Is the construction of the Torre de Manila unpleasant to see beside the Rizal Monument? Do you agree that we should make Rizal do an about-face? Share your thoughts below!
